Shelly Lyn Sugawara hails from Hawai'i but currently calls Los Angeles her home.  Originally brought to the mainland to study Fashion Design, Shelly taught herself to design and create jewelry upon discovering the work of Miriam Haskell.  She soon began constructing her own pieces inspired by Haskell's hand-wiring technique using vintage findings.  Her inspirations are as far-reaching as her fascination with youth sub-cultures, namely Goth and Rockabilly, Nineties Revival, Classic Hollywood and Drag.  Glamour is the name of her game.  A style chameleon, as well as a culture vulture, Shelly lives her influences while developing her latest collection.  Most recently, she culled from such varying references as Blade Runner, Forties showgirls, and Seventies Rei Kawakubo. In the near future, Shelly hopes to expand her jewelry line into a range of accessories.
